Uniq Massage is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or assistive technology. We are actively working to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

This site does not use any third-party accessibility overlay widget. We address accessibility at the code level, which provides a more reliable and lasting experience for assistive technology users.

1. What We've Done

The following accessibility features have been implemented across all pages of this website:

• Skip link: A "Skip to main content" link appears at the top of every page, allowing keyboard users to bypass navigation and jump directly to page content.
• Semantic landmarks: Pages use <header>, <nav>, <main>, and <footer> elements so screen reader users can navigate by landmark region.
• Heading hierarchy: Each page has a single <h1> followed by logically nested <h2> and <h3> headings to support screen reader navigation and document structure.
• Descriptive alt text: All meaningful images include descriptive alt attributes. Decorative images are marked with empty alt="" so screen readers skip them.
• Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements — navigation links, buttons, accordions, modals, sliders, and pricing toggles — are reachable and operable by keyboard alone.
• Visible focus indicators: A visible focus ring appears on all focusable elements when navigating by keyboard, meeting WCAG 2.2 Focus Appearance requirements.
• ARIA labels: Navigation landmarks, icon-only buttons, sliders, modals, and toggle controls include descriptive aria-label or aria-labelledby attributes.
• ARIA expanded states: The mobile navigation toggle and FAQ accordion buttons announce their open/closed state via aria-expanded.
• Modal dialogs: Booking and couples-call modals use role="dialog", aria-modal="true", and aria-labelledby. They close on Escape key and return focus appropriately.
• Color contrast: Text and interactive elements meet the WCAG AA minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and UI components.
• Reduced motion: Animations and transitions are disabled for users who have enabled prefers-reduced-motion in their operating system. The hero video is hidden for these users.
• Responsive design: All pages are fully responsive and usable at any viewport width, including when text is zoomed to 200%.
• Plain language: Content is written in clear, straightforward language to support users with cognitive disabilities.

2. Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance, some areas are still being improved:

• Third-party booking widget: The online booking form is provided by Mangomint and is embedded via iframe. Accessibility of that form is subject to Mangomint's own implementation. Customers who need assistance booking may call us directly.
• Legacy images: A small number of older images may have generic alt text. We are addressing these on a rolling basis.

4. Standards & Approach

This website targets conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We test using keyboard-only navigation, browser accessibility tools, and periodic screen reader testing. Accessibility improvements are addressed in the same development cycle as other site changes.

We do not use automated overlay tools that inject accessibility fixes at runtime. All improvements are made directly in our HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
